Note the application is for a full red ASIC however Brisbane Airport Corporation will treat this as a two step process.

ASIC applications and renewals require AusCheck to undertake the following background checks:

• A security assessment by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation
  
• A criminal history check by the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission
  
• An immigration check (if required) by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, to confirm an applicant's right to work in Australia.

a) Apply for Red ASIC and you will have a Background security check done to clear you for training and for access to the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection. BAC will issue a confirmation email to you and to ISS training that the check has been completed and the status of the check. Once you have submitted your application, it can take between two (2) and six (6) weeks for your application to be processed and all background checks completed by AusCheck. ISS training will assist with your application for a ASIC and can answer your questions related to this.

Note the application fee for this ASIC is $220 at Brisbane Airport Corporation and is non-refundable. 

b) If you complete the training and are offered a job role with an operational need by an aviation security company to work at Brisbane Airport, the ASIC will be issued as a Red ASIC only if the employer verifies the operational need if a job offer is given. This step is managed by ISS Security with Brisbane Airport and ISS Training Pty Ltd has no involvement in this process or determination of employment
